After 5 long years of expected utility and decision making under uncertainty and risk, bayesian stats and behavorial decision theory, JDMs, JRUs, ECRPs and a whole host of acronyms, that so mercilessly robbed him of his chess-playing time, Kanchan defended his thesis succesfully yesterday.
No small feat this...considering that most of the time that he actually worked on his problems, it was like this!
